Deliverables
In line with the focus on inclusivity, Malaysia aims to ensure that micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), women entrepreneurs, and youths benefit from ASEAN’s economic growth. As a result, 18 Priority Economic Deliverables were endorsed during the ASEAN Economic Ministers’ Retreat.
The PED is integral to the ASEAN Chairmanship and serves as a cornerstone within the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) Pillar.
Here are the 18 PEDs anchored on four key thrusts:

Designing the PEDs
Each PED is designed to address specific economic challenges and opportunities, ensuring that initiatives are not only impactful but also aligned with broader goals of regional cooperation. Every PED should ideally be fully implemented and completed within the designated year of Chairmanship (i.e. 1 year), reflecting the completed within the designated year of Chairmanship (i.e. 1 year), reflecting the Chair’s commitment to timely and effective governance. Additionally, PED’s must fall within the jurisdiction and expertise of the AED, which serves as a vital platform for addressing both established and emerging economic issues.
Fostering Collaboration
Be leveraging the collective strengths of ASEAN, the PEDs can foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovative solutions and proactive responses to changing circumstances. It is equally important that the PEDs maintain continuity with the initiatives established in the previous year. Such initiatives cover areas such as digital transformation, sustainable development, trade facilitation, and resilience to economic shocks. These are meant to provide continuity and build on past achievements, to ensure a progressive approach to regional development.
